The Good Shepherd Preschool
Ages 3 – 5 years
The Good Shepherd Preschool provides a foundation for quality Catholic education through prayer, song and play for our youngest students. We are committed to encouraging spiritual, physical, academic and emotional development of each individual child through discovery-based hands on learning.
As a regional Catholic school, The Good Shepherd program provides the opportunity to bring children and families together as they learn and celebrate our faith. Enrichment programs enhance children’s experience at school by allowing them to explore learning with cooking, art and music.
St. Clare Catholic School

Over the 143 years of the school’s operation, we have educated over 3,000 students who have gone into the world and made not just a good living, but a positive change to the world around them.

St. Clare currently has over 490 students including our renowned preschool program. This makes us one of the largest Catholic Kindergarten – 8th grade schools in the area.

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Religious education based on the teaching principles of Maria Montessori, designed for children ages 3 – 12 years old.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) came about through the work of two Roman Catholic laywomen in Rome: Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi. They were inspired by the educational principles of Maria Montessori, also a devout Catholic, who believed that her “method” was fulfilled in teaching religious education. The materials that are prepared for the children, in a special space called the Atrium, are based on the Bible and liturgy. CGS Sessions are held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons in the Saint Nicholas Spirituality Center.

School of Religion
PSR offers religious instruction consistent with the wisdom and tradition of the Catholic Church. Our catechists are people of faith who volunteer their time and talent. They prepare lessons with care and use a curriculum approved by the Diocese of Belleville. By working together with families in a spirit of love and concern for the needs of the children, we hope to create a positive experience of church in the process of passing on the faith.
